Sam was born in Gaugi, Sicily, Italy, to Saverio and Hellen DiGaugi, and later moved to the Bronx in New York. In 1968, he joined the Marines and was later sent to Vietnam, where he served until 1971, leaving the USMC as a sergeant.

Sam loved riding his Harley, known as the “Preacher.” He rode with some famous motorcycle clubs, and even had a biker church in Green River.

He lost his wife, Kathleen I. Holler, to cancer in 2019, after 18 years of marriage.

Sam passed away at the Rocky Mountain Care center in Tooele, Utah, where he was loved by many.

His laughter and good nature will be greatly missed.

Shiny side up, Sam!
