Utah Media Group announced recently that it will no longer deliver the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News in the Evanston area.
“Due to lack of customers in the region it is no longer feasible to maintain home delivery,” stated a letter sent to subscribers.
The letter said that local delivery will be discontinued Monday, March 12.
The company will credit any remaining account balances back to its subscribers. State Circulation Manager David Gifford told the Herald Thursday that there were only 50 subscribers in Evanston, and after the person who was delivering the papers quit, they were unable to replace her. She used to pick up the daily newspapers in Park City and deliver a small route in Henefer before delivering the papers in Evanston.
