EVANSTON — Ronald (Ron) Keith Harvey, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 7, at his home in Evanston.

Ron was born Oct. 21, 1946, in Mountain View, the son of Robert W. Harvey and Mary Katherine Rounds Harvey.

Ron’s mother passed away shortly after his birth. He was raised by his Grandma Rounds until age 6. After his grandma passed away, he lived with his Aunt Bertha and Uncle Charlie Meeks. He attended school in Manilla, Utah, through his freshman year. Ron then moved to Mountain View to live with his older brother, Wes Harvey and his family and graduated from Mountain View High School with the class of 1965.

Shortly after graduating, Ron entered the United States Army in 1966. He served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967. Upon returning home from the war, he went to work for the Wyoming Highway Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2000.

Ron loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his mountain rides in his side-by-side. He was always available to go on these adventures with family and friends. Ron had a vast knowledge of family history and shared these stories often. Ron had a good heart, and he loved and appreciated his neighbors and their friendships. He enjoyed his associations with his nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Pam Holder, Debbie Ready, Brenda Douglas, Wendy Behunin, Valree Nuir, Christy Goodwin, Harold Harvey, Randy Harvey, Brad Harvey, Bret Harvey and Wane Anderson.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Wes Harvey, Wayne Harvey, Robert Harvey: sister, Helen Harvey Behunin; and a nephew, Bobby Harvey.

Graveside services with military honors were 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
