FORT BRIDGER — Ron “Tub” Robbins, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Fort Bridger, Wyoming, on Oct. 30, 2021.

Ron was born on June 6, 1938, in Deadwood, S.D. He was the son of Charles Richard Robbins and Eleanore (Schmidt) Robbins. Ron married his first love, Ruby Robbins on March 28, 1958, in Newtown, N.D. Ron and Ruby had three wonderful children together: Ronny Robbins Jr., Billy (Robbins) Hawkins, and Danny Robbins. After losing Ruby on Sept. 11, 1991, he met his second love, Darlene Gabriel in 1995. Ron and Dar shared their life together for the past 26 years.

Ron was a member of the Army from Jan. 6, 1956, to Dec. 25 1957, and was honorably discharged from service. Ron then worked for many years as a Welder in Fort Bridger, Wyoming, before retiring in 2003. Ron’s interests included fishing at Flaming Gorge, hunting, camping, his horses and his family; especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his longtime love, Darlene Gabriel of Fort Bridger, Wyoming; his sisters: Beverly (Beep) Christofferson of Kemmerer, Wyoming; Glenda Nash of Caldwell, Idaho; and Betty Hess of California; his son Ronny Robbins Jr. and wife Penny of Mountain View, Wyoming; his daughter, Billy Hawkins and husband Scott of Mountain View, Wyoming; Darlene’s daughters Johnetta Heltz and husband Jason of Mountain View, Wyoming; and Mieshell Damron and husband Carl of Scottsbluff Nebraska; his grandchildren: Ronny Lee Robbins III, Jennifer Bravo, Janna Richards, Jessica Leon, Bobbie Webb, Libby Robbins and Jaden Heltz; as well as many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Ruby Robbins; his son, Danny Robbins; his grandson, Ronny Boyd Hawkins; and his granddaughter, Lila Robbins.

Ron will be greatly missed by all who knew him and had the chance to love him. A memorial service was conducted for Ron on Thursday Nov. 4, 2021, at the American Legion in Fort Bridger, Wyoming. Visitation was at 10 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m. Those at the services were invited to the luncheon following the services.
