Robert Blair Daines passed away in his home in the early hours on January 3, 2023. Rob was born November 24, 1957, in Evanston to Dr. Donald Daines and Glenna Jackson. He was the middle child of three with two sisters, one older and one younger.
He graduated from Evanston High School in 1976, where he was voted Most Ambitious. He attended Brigham Young University on a full-ride scholarship, where he made lifelong friends.
He loved helping people. He was always willing to help those in his life. He was a kind, gentle, and generous person. He was a rock to those who loved him.
He was a longtime employee of First Bank, where he worked for 30 years. He was very much beloved and respected by all those he worked with.
Rob is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald Daines.
Rob is survived by his mother, Glenna Richins; sisters Julie Staley and Donna Williams; nephew Sean (Crysta) Williams; nieces Kim (Alan) Smith and Tracy Staley; great-nephews Ethan Smith and Jackson Smith; and great-niece Ivie Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Crandall Funeral Home Saturday, Jan. 7, with a viewing beginning at 9a.m. followed by services at 11a.m. Interment will be at Evanston City Cemetery.
