Richard William Hoffman

Richard William Hoffman, known as Dick by family and friends, passed away on April 13 in his home in Randolph, Utah, at age 75 after a courageous fight with cancer. 

Richard was born to Kenneth and Helen Hoffman of Randolph on Feb. 13, 1942. He grew up on the family ranch at Sage Creek north of Randolph with his younger brother and sister Gordon and Louise. 

Dick went to South Rich High School and lived the first few years of his married life at the ranch with his wife, Charmaine Meadows of Evanston, whom he married on June 15, 1959. Their family was later sealed in the Logan, Utah, Temple in 1970. After a few years, they moved their family to Kemmerer, where he worked at FMC Corporation for over 30 years. 

Dick and Charmaine were blessed with four children: Craig, Kelly, Charlene and Lisa. Their family loved to be outdoors and go camping and hunting as well as spending time at the family ranch in Randolph. After retiring from FMC, Dick and Charmaine moved back to Randolph, where Dick worked on the ranch and had other part-time jobs throughout the years. 

Dick considered his family the greatest blessings in his life and loved his children and grandchildren. He was also “Grandpa” to many children in the community. He was active in his church and enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete in sports activities when he could. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Hoffman and Helen Cox; his brother Charles Hoffman, who died as an infant; his sister, Louise Hoffman Pickard; his son Richard Craig Hoffman; and great-granddaughter Hadley Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife, Charmaine of Randolph; son
Kelly (Myrna) Hoffman of Cokeville; daughters Charlene (Barry) McLean of Randolph and Lisa (Brian) Cornford of Aztec, New Mexico; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, at the Randolph LDS church. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m.-noon with the funeral to follow. Interment will be in the Randolph Cemetery. Funeral services will be provided by Ball Family Chapel of
