Richard (Rick) Morrison passed away at 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 1 at the Evanston Regional Hospital. He was surrounded by his family at the time of death.

Rick was born March 19, 1960, in Portland, Oregon. Rick lived a life full of love and laughter; he had a heart of gold and cared for others deeply. Rick was always the life of the party, from his big beautiful smile to his beautiful blue eyes.

Rick was a very simple man. He loved his football and his NASCAR. Denver Broncos was his team and Tony Stewart was his driver. Rick loved his good old rock and roll; as he would say, “let the good times roll!” He had a deep love for his dog Junior and he loved watching NASCAR with his dad. Rick always enjoy family gatherings and summertime barbecues.

Rick was affiliated in his childhood years with the Acrerats based out of Whittier, California, where he met his best friend David Estrada — “his brother from another mother,” they would say.

His surviving family are his ex-wife/best friend Lynn Guthrie of Allen, Texas; children, Reanna McCasky of Hemet, California, Tara Wisenbaker of Evanston, Breanna May Allen of Texas, Steven Silvey Fullerton of California and Brandon May of Denver. Rick is a proud grandpa to 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild (who was born on the day Rick passed away). He is also survived by his sisters, Deborah Morrison of Buena Park, California, and Linda Urbania of Central Point, Oregon; nephews and nieces, Michael Morrison of Buena Park, California, Johnny Hackman, Joshua Morrison and Monique Olson; and best friends, David Estrada, Ardy Rose, Donny Guthrie, Scott May and Jeremy Wisenbaker.

Rick will truly be missed but never forgotten. We have a comfort as his family knowing he is no longer suffering from his illnesses. He is flying high in the sky like a free bird. Until we see you again!

Services will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, at the Evanston Church of the Nazarene, conducted by Pastor Timothy McDowell. Please feel free to join family and friends for the celebration of life for Richard Morrison.
