Raymond Lovato passed away on May 19, in Reno, Nevada, at the age of 71. He was born in Mont Harris, Colorado, and he grew up mostly in Evanston. He graduated from Evanston High School and the University of Wyoming.
He served many years working at the Uinta County School District No. 1 and the Uinta County Library.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; his daughters, Yolanda and Melissa; his sister, Beverly (Sonny) Madrid; his brother, Ben (Linda) Lovato; half-sisters, Hedy McDonald, Geraldine Cintas and Mary Inez Lovato; and many nieces and nephews, who all loved him dearly.
He had an infectious laugh and made amazing fudge and cookies that he loved to share with family and neighbors. He cherished and adored his sweetheart, Gloria.
He and Gloria moved to Reno, Nevada, where he worked with the county jail in Washoe County. They loved to dance and spend time with friends at the local casinos. He had many close friends there who were like family, and they have been very helpful in this difficult time.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Adam Gutierrez; David Lovato; brothers, Manuel Lovato, LeRoy Lovato and Floyd Lovato; and half-brothers, Edward Lovato and Johnny Lovato.
The family offers many thanks to Renown Regional Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion they provided for the short time he was there.
