Paul Carl Rost

Posted

On Wednesday, March 25, heaven gained a wild and crazy character we all know as “Carl.” Paul C. Rost was born on July 6, 1956, in Billings, Montana, the youngest son to Clayton and Ida Fae Rost.

Carl attended school in West Valley City, Utah, and graduated with the Granger High School Class of 1974.

After high school, Carl married his high school sweetheart, Debora Lee Motley, in Salt Lake City, and together they had three children. They later divorced.

Carl served our great nation in the U.S. Navy from Aug. 3, 1977 to March 17, 1978. He was honorably discharged following medical issues.

Carl was a master welder, a member of the Clampers, lover of old cars, a proud vet and, above all else, a great storyteller.

Survivors include his three children: son, Paul J. Rost (Jessica) of Rock Springs; son James C. Rost of West Valley City, Utah; and daughter, Michelle L. Kynaston (Mike) of Green River. He is also survived by three brothers, David Rost (Martha) of Jurupa Valley, California; Frank Munoz (Kathy) of Idaho; and Walter Zumbrennen of Henderson, Nevada; one sister, Pauline White of West Valley City, Utah; six grandchildren, Ashya Rost, of Taylorsville, Utah; Taylor Rost and Zoey Tozzi of Rock Springs; Kyle Kynaston of Evanston; Lee Kynaston of Salt Lake City; and Lily Kynaston of Green River.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Carl’s home health CNA, Brittney. Carl and Brittney became friends throughout the years of Carl’s constant care, and she took better care of him than anyone could have. Even after his passing, she continued to help with the tasks facing his children of preparing Carl for cremation, helping with the donations, preparing his affairs and letting the family know they weren’t alone in this grievous time. Carl always referred to Brittney as an angel, and we, the family, could not agree more.

Carl was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother-in-law, Mike White; and his best friend and cohort in crime, Ada.

The family respectfully requests all donations in Carl’s name be made to the American Legion at 551 Broadway St., Rock Springs, WY, 82901

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
