Outlaws go 1-2 for the weekend

Outlaws vs Jackson

It was a busy weekend for the American Legion Post 41 Outlaws baseball team. 

On Friday the Outlaws face the Jackson Giants but lost the game 3-0. The game slipped away from the Outlaws, in the first inning the Giants scored on a single by Clayton Campbell and on a single from Aaron Vitta in the second inning.

Both teams had excellent pitching with the Outlaws struck out three players the Giants struck out six.

Brandon Wicks, Hunter Hicks and Reid Gross each managed one hit and the team did not commit a single error. 

Quinton Bruno and Clayton Campbell had multiple hits for the Giants.

In the end, the American Legion Outlaws couldn’t get a run on the board, losing 3-0.

Outlaws vs Rock Springs

On Saturday the Outlaws faced Rock Springs and lost a heartbreaker, 11-7, losing the lead late in the game. At the top of the sixth inning the game was tied at seven when the Sandpuppies, batting in the top of the sixth inning had C. Lucero double off of Brandon Wicks and driving in two runs.

The Outlaws had taken the lead in the first inning when Hunter Hicks singled and drove in a run. In the third inning the Outlaws scored three runs off a single by Cris Periman and a double by Braedon MacDonald.

Seth Lloyd, Ryan Fisher and Brandon Wicks each had multiple hits for the Outlaws in the high scoring game.

Outlaws vs Green River

The Outlaws squared off against Green River B on Sunday and had 11 hits on their way to defeating Green River B 7-2.

Beau Lloyd, Cris Periman and Ryan Fisher all had multiple hits for the Outlaws, each collecting two hits.

The Outlaws took the lead for good in the third inning when Braedon MacDonald hit a homerun, driving in two runs. In the fourth inning the Outlaws scored four runs thanks to a double by Seth Lloyd and a single by Cris Periman.

The American Legion Post 41 Outlaws have a 9-15 record.
