Nicole Dawn Staker, 35, passed away on Aug. 30, surrounded by her loving family in Evanston.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1982, in Price, Utah, to James Allen and Connie (Slagowski) Staker.

Nicole loved listening to loud music, doing word search puzzles and watching TV. She enjoyed going to the farmer’s market, where she loved to hang out and listen to the music. She loved going on school field trips, and hanging out with friends at the Day-Hab. She also enjoyed visiting old friends at the Castle Valley Center when in Utah.

She loved her cats and enjoyed giving them and Uncle Rick’s puppies extra treats. She also enjoyed petting horses on her dad’s farm. She loved her job and shopping at Walmart, especially for others.

She enjoyed teasing her family and friends, and she loved to argue. She was always right! She was very thoughtful and concerned about others’ needs, and she gave the best hugs.

Nicole has been a fighter since birth and she never stopped fighting. Each one of us has been blessed to have had her in our lives.

She is survived by her mother, Connie Staker, Evanston; her father, James Allen (Debbie) Staker, Elmo, Utah; her siblings, Casey Staker of Salt Lake City; Tonia (Jon) Bishop of Milliken, Colorado; Chris Staker of Evanston; her step-siblings, Josh (Lacie) Wilson, Elmo, Utah; Samantha (John) Hannert, Price, Utah; Chris (Whitney) Wilson, Roosevelt, Utah; nieces and nephews, Daryn, Jace, Brynli, Gage, Jayden, Axel, Wiley, Quinn, Tateum, Tallen, Tanner, Laila and Lexi; her grandmother, Marsha Atwood, Elmo, Utah; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Evanston LDS South Stake Center. Interment will follow in the Evanston City Cemetery.
