Mitchell “Mitch” Baucum, 25, passed away Saturday, May 25, at Huntsman Cancer Center, from pneumonia complications. He was born on Nov. 22, 1993, in Rock Springs, to Don and Vicky Baucum.
He attended schools in Baggs, and he graduated in 2013 in Evanston. He attended electrician school at Western Wyoming Community College for a year before becoming ill.
Mitch enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and any outdoor activities with family and friends. He enjoyed making music for YouTube and Sound Cloud. He was also into playing Magic with friends. He was known for his big smiles and politeness — he would give you the shirt off his back. He also has a partner in crime — his wonderful, smart dog Lucy. She was his shadow, and she misses him terribly.
Mitch is survived by Maedgen (Toni), Kenny and Jason (Amy) Baucum; several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Mitch is preceded in death by grandparents, Dave Mortensen, Elvis (Sue) Rodgers and Paul (Geneva) Baucum; and an aunt, Paula Tabor.
Thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Huntsman Cancer Center; they were a very caring bunch of people and a lot of friends were made. Thank you to the others who sent cards and messages on Facebook — love ya all.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
