Michelle “Shelly” Walls

Posted

On Monday, June 3, Michelle “Shelly” Walls, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Shelly was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Sept. 11, 1966, to Benjamin and Barbara Franklin. Growing up on the east coast with two sisters and her parents, Shelly learned to care deeply for anyone she met, a trait that would stay with her and lead to many loving friendships throughout her life.

She raised her sons, Chris and Steve, who gave her five adoring grandchildren. She loved music, spending time with family and animals of all kinds. From the first moments of her diagnosis to her last days, Shelly never stopped fighting, unwilling to give up the chance for a little more time with her children and grandchildren. We choose not to remember her in the disease that took her, but instead to remember her in the loving person that she was her entire life.

Shelly is survived by her sons, Chris (Samantha) Brown of Evanston, and Steve Brown of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Hunter, Jason, Danica, Ana and Jacob; sisters, Cynthia and Susan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Barbara Franklin.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and Rocky Mountain Care for their unwavering support, care and kindness. In lieu of flowers we would ask for a donation to be made to any animal rescue/shelter or Humane Society in Shelly Wall’s name.
