EVANSTON — Uinta County Weed and Pest has teamed up with the Uinta County Conservation District to host an alfalfa and hay growers meeting from 1-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the conservation district office at 204 East Sage St. in Lyman.
Travis Osmond of Lincoln County Weed and Pest and Dan Madsen of Sweetwater County Weed and Pest, both former crop advisors in Utah, will be there to discuss planting options for meadows and foxtail control in alfalfa and hay meadows. Other topics for the workshop include soil health and fertilizer, presented by representatives from Covolo Auto-Farm Service, and a discussion on grasshoppers, led by a presenter from APHIS.
The workshop is free to attend; however, it is asked that you RSVP by Thursday, Feb. 21. You can call the weed and pest office at (307) 789-9289 or send an email to uintawp@hotmail.com.
