Lyman woman competing for Miss USA title

EVANSTON — This year, Uinta County residents have the opportunity to do something that has never happened before — watch a Uinta County woman compete in the Miss USA Pageant. Lexi Revelli, of Lyman, is currently in Memphis representing the state as Miss Wyoming — a role she stepped into just two weeks ago.

Lexi was initially the first runner-up to Buffalo’s Katie Bozner, who had to step down when it became clear academic commitments would not allow her to make the trip to Memphis. Revelli, 26, then found herself quickly preparing for the opportunity of a lifetime.

Lexi’s mother, Darci Revelli, said Lexi has been competing with the Miss Wyoming program for nine years so she’s not a newcomer to pageants; however, the last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. Lexi flew to Memphis on Sunday, Nov. 1, when folks in the Bridger Valley gave her a warm sendoff complete with police and fire crews.

A Wyoming native, Lexi has a passion for holistic health and her Miss Wyoming bio describes her as enjoying yoga, writing poetry, playing the ukulele, hiking and kayaking. Her love for holistic health led to her career as a licensed esthetician and certified foot zone practitioner specializing in muscle testing. She is also actively involved with promoting a nonprofit organization, “Carson Cares,” launched by her family after the tragic loss of her brother to a prescription drug overdose.

An Instagram post Lexi shared on Wednesday, Nov. 4, said, “It’s time to make a change in regard to prescription drug abuse. I can’t stand by and watch this epidemic go on any longer. I truly believe holistic health is the way.”

Since her arrival in Memphis, Lexi has been posting to her Instagram account, sharing tours of Graceland and her excitement at participating in the Miss USA Pageant.

At 7 p.m. MST on Friday, Nov. 6, the preliminary rounds of the pageant will be streamed live on the Miss USA Facebook page. The announcement of the finalists and final competition will then air on the A&E FYI Channel at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9. Darci said FYI is channel 119 for Dish subscribers and 266 for those with DirecTV. For local AllWest cable subscribers, FYI is channel 200.

In addition to watching Lexi compete, folks can also help ensure she makes it to the finals stage by voting for her. Darci explained that the top 15 competitors as determined by the judges advance to the finals along with a 16th finalist determined by public votes. To vote, download the Miss USA app on any cell phone or visit https://www.missusa.com/delegates. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page as the delegates are listed alphabetically by state. Voting is open now; the first vote is free and voters also have the opportunity to purchase additional votes.

Those paid votes can also help with Lexi’s mission to combat prescription drug abuse. Lexi’s Instagram message said, “By voting me into the top 16 we can help, with the proceeds going to the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse.”
