Lyman girls finish in 5th place at state track meet

The Lady Eagles of Lyman placed fifth in a field of 16 teams at the state track meet in Casper, scoring 57.5 team points.  

Junior McKinley Bradshaw had a sensational meet, earning Class 3A All-State honors with first-place finishes in both the shot put and discus. Her heave of 41 feet 8.5 inches in the shot put and 127-foot discus toss contributed 20 points to her team’s total. If the throwing events were not enough, Bradshaw also won the high jump at five-feet, five inches, good for another 10 team points. This was a three-peat for Bradshaw, a 2016 and 2017 all-state track and field selection, as well.

Junior McKailey Bradshaw placed sixth In the 800-meter run, scoring three points for her team. She also ended in the seventh spot for the 400-meter dash preliminaries, with the time of 1:03.21, and jumped to a fourth-place finish in the finals, shaving 1.33 seconds off her time to cross the line in 1:01.88, adding five team points. Bradshaw was also just outside the top-eight in the shot put, ending in ninth-place.

Senior Kaleigh Douglass placed seventh in the 3200-meter run with the time 12:30.88, scoring two for the Lady Eagles and would finish just outside of the point-getters in ninth-place, competing in the 1600-meter run.

Junior Challis Nebeker scored six points in placing third in the pole vault clearing ten-feet.

Senior Chesney Walker tied for fourth-place in the high jump, earning 4.5 points for the Lady Eagles with her leap of an even five-feet

Sophomore Nicole Peden qualified in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.64 seconds and would score three points in the finals for the Lady Eagles, in a sixth-place finish, with a time of 27.70 seconds.

The 4x100 relay team with the Bradshaw sisters, Peden and Walker. scored four points on a fifth-place finish at the 3A state meet at Harry Geldien Stadium.
