Lyman – The Lyman High School football team knew multiple scenarios could determine if the Eagles made the state playoffs
A win against Greybull on Saturday would have simplified the situation a bit, but there were still no guarantees the Eagles would make the playoffs.
Of Course, Lyman will still have a shot at making a postseason run despite suffering a 36-8 loss to Greybull in a 2A West matchup in a game that was originally scheduled for Friday evening.
The Buffaloes (4-3, 3-2) took a 20-0 halftime lead and scored 16 points to in the fourth quarter to cruise past Lyman, who scored a fourth-quarter touchdown.
There are now eight scenarios that could affect Lyman making the playoffs and the seed the Eagles (3-4, 2-3) could receive.
Greybull beat Lyman and the Eagles beat Lovell. Lovell (3-4, 2-3) was victorious over Greybull, but the Buffaloes have a one-game lead against Lyman and Lovell going into Week 8.
In Week 8, Greybull takes on top-seeded Mountain View (6-1, 5-0). Lyman plays Big Piney (5-2, 4-1), which has locked in the No. 2 seed, and Lovell takes on Kemmerer (1-6, 0-5).
