Lola Hamilton celebrates 100th birthday

Posted

Lola Landers Hamilton will be honored on her 100th birthday on Oct. 30. She was born in Riverton, Wyoming, in 1918, while her father served in WWI.

Lola has lived 87 of these years in Bridger Valley on the Hamilton ranch where she still resides. She graduated from Mountain View High School with the class of 1936, and has continued to educate herself and develop many talents and skills. She is very well read and known for her positive approach to life.

A few of Lola’s hobbies include sewing, quilting, baking wedding cakes and oil painting. She has made at least 100 pieced quilts and around 40 wedding cakes for friends and family. Numerous crocheted items for use and beauty have been shared.

Lola has been a lifelong avid bird watcher, a historian and a champion letter writer. She has written her own history and journals and remains the “go-to” person for remembering past as well as recent history and occurrences.

Service in many community and state leadership positions over the years has been important to Lola and she stays up to date on world news and politics. She served as an election judge for many years and was instrumental in the creation of the Uinta County Library system.

Lola and John, her husband of nearly 60 years, raised six children, Jeraldine, Pat, Chuck, Claudia, Richard and Chris, and have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lola relishes visits and enjoys calls, cards and letters. If anyone would like to help her celebrate this milestone, her mailing address is 1625 County Rd. 263, Fort Bridger, WY 82933, and her phone number is (307) 782-6735.
