Linda Connor

Longtime Evanston resident Linda Connor went peacefully home to her heavenly father on January 12, at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer and other health complications.

Linda was born in Conrad, Mont., to Milton and Doris Haaland on September 23, 1953. Linda was raised on the family farm north of Inverness, Mont., and graduated from Inverness High School in 1971.

She married her high school sweetheart, Butch Connor, on Sept. 9, 1972. They spent their early married years working on farms and ranches or traveling the country working on drilling rigs in the oil and gas industry. They moved to the Evanston area in August of 1979 to work during the oil and gas boom that was happening at the time and remained in Evanston, raising their three children, operating an oilfield service company, and making many very special friends.

Linda will be missed and remembered by her surviving family: her beloved husband, Butch; her three children, Tanya, Stacy and Chad; her four grandchildren Sophie, Sydney, Alex and Gabe; and her three brothers Lauris, Kent and Kelly.

Linda’s loving personality will also be missed by her many friends in the Evanston area and those scattered from coast to coast and border to border.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, most likely in June, when all who wish to celebrate her life are able to present.
