Linda Ann Hollingshead

Linda Ann Hollingshead, a lifelong resident of Evanston, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, May 11.

Linda was born on Aug. 9, 1941, to Walter and Chleo Sims in Ogden, Utah. She and her six siblings grew up on Sims Ranch in north Evanston. Linda married her high school sweetheart, Lamonte Truman Hollingshead, on March 4, 1960, in Evanston.

Linda had two children: Brenda Caves and Chad Hollingshead, both of Evanston.

Linda worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator, and later for First National Bank for 33 years, becoming the assistant vice president before retiring in 2005. Linda enjoyed the simple life of living and raising her family on their ranch. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her children, Brenda (Ric) Caves and Chad (Sharon) Hollingshead, both of Evanston; sisters, Cheryl (John) Vaughn of Puyallup, Washington, Susan (Pat) Mulhall of Green River, and Lorrie (Rick) Guild of Fort Bridger; grandchildren, RaeAnna (Tracy) Kirk, Beau (Kassidy) Christiansen, Colter Hollingshead, Deric (Tenisha) Caves, Ciara (Kenni) Burns and Tanner Caves; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lamonte Hollingshead; her parents, Walter and Chleo Sims; her brother, Richard Sims; sister, Beverly Higley; and brother, Robert Sims.

A small family service was held on Friday, May 15, at the Evanston City Cemetery. Linda’s family would like to thank all those who expressed their condolences during this time.
