Editor:
Have you been to the Evanston animal shelter lately? Why are dogs and cats in the same room? Why do you pay a surrender fee and the shelter turns around and adopts that animal?
And why do the dogs and cats go out of the shelter without being spayed or neutered? Why is the shelter not a no-kill shelter?
Why did the city get a grant for a larger crematorium? Is their answer to kill these homeless pets and just bury their heads in the sand and ignore the increasing animal problem in this city?
Almost every day I meet people who are taking care of homeless animals. They are feeding them, but can’t afford to get them fixed.
Why is Paws ‘n’ Claws in Kemmerer a no-kill shelter? I understand Rock Springs also has a no-kill shelter.
There are solutions to this ever-growing population of homeless animals besides killing them. What about trap-neuter-return (TNR)?
