Letter: Help keep Cowboy Days great

Posted

Editor:

This year, Evanston Cowboy Days will celebrate its 81st year of professional rodeo in Evanston. Each year, Cowboy Days holds its Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo during Labor Day Weekend. This year, our celebration will start at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1.

We are aware that some businesses are experiencing tough times, but we cannot do this event without your support. We are making cuts where we can, while still providing a fun, family event.

We’ve made great strides in raising our prize money so we can draw the top cowboys and cowgirls from all over the country. Last year, we had 15 contestants here that went on to compete at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, in December.

Sponsorship levels range from $40 on up. Committee members will be active in seeking donations for the next few months. Please do what you possibly can. We are confident we have something for everyone.

If you are part of a community organization that can provide any form of entertainment or help in some way, we’d love to hear from you as well.

Thank you to the community for your support over the past 80 years. Let’s make year 81 the best yet.

Last but not least, if you have any questions or concerns, or if you are interested in joining the committee, please feel free to contact Dustin at (307) 679-8019.
