Lee Wayne Briggs, 84, passed away Sunday, July 7, at Evanston Regional Hospital in Evanston.

Wayne was born Jan. 7, 1935, in Livingston, Montana, to Leo and Ethel Mae Briggs. He was a welder and had his own business for many years. He liked to work around the house and outside doing projects, planting in his garden and taking care of his chickens. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Wayne Raymond Briggs.

He is survived by one sister, Clara Marie Smith of Collinsville, Texas; his wife of 18 years, Julia Briggs of Evanston; three sons, John Bryan (Yete) Briggs of Elko, Nevada, Michael Allen (Kim) Briggs of Valley Mills, Texas, and David Lee (Alice) Briggs of Torrington; four daughters, Ethel Denise (Mark) Krcma of Moses Lake, Washington, Mary Naomi (Larry) Davis of Mustang, Oklahoma, Neva Del (Mark) Jones of Idaho and Machelle Briggs of Elko, Nevada; three stepchildren, Dannice Peterson, Russell Fox and Stephanie Muller; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Elm Street LDS Church in Evanston.
