The Lady Red Devils volleyball team traveled to Pocatello, Idaho, to participate in the Highland Invite held last Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Red Devils started well, defeating Bear Lake, Idaho 2-0 winning the first set 24-19 and the second set, 25-9. Then they faced Shelly, Idaho, and won that match 2-1. Evanston won the first set 25-19 and the third set 15-10 but they lost the second set 25-22.
Later in the day, the Lady Red Devils lost to Kimberly, Idaho, in three sets with Kimberly winning two sets and Evanston winning one set.
By winning their first two matches, the Lady Red Devils moved on to the Gold Bracket on Saturday and started their day losing to Burley, Idaho, 2-1. The Lady Red Devils won the first set 25-14 but lost the second and third sets 18-25 and 8-15 respectively.
Evanston came back against Centennial High School out of Boise, Idaho, by winning two straight matches with scores of 25-22 and 25-15.
Hillcrest High from Idaho Falls, Idaho, eliminated the Lady Red Devils in straight sets, 24-26 and 19-25.
