The Evanston High School girls’ basketball team dropped from No. 2 to No. 3 in the latest Class 4A state rankings, released Thursday morning.
The Lady Red Devils (8-3) are coming off a 46-36 win against Star Valley, but suffered a 57-54 loss to Class 3A Lyman (10-0) on Jan. 11. Evanston’s other losses came against Thunder Basin and (8-3) Cheyenne East (9-3).
Cheyenne East is the top team in 4A again after receiving 153 points. Thunder Basin moved up from No. 3 to No. 2 after receiving 135 points. Evanston comes in third with 72 points. Campbell County (7-5) is No. 4 with 60 points and Kelly Walsh (7-4) is No. 5 with 39 points.
In Class 3A, Douglas (11-0) remained at No. 1 with 219 points. Lyman once again is ranked second with 186 points.
Buffalo (10-2) remained at No. 3 in Class 4A this week with 117 points and Mountain View (6-3) stayed at No. 4 with 96 points. Powell comes in as the No. 5 team in Class 3A with 33 points after not being in the rankings last week.
