Kent Michael Batty, 44, passed away on Oct. 12, in a single-vehicle accident west of Logan, Utah, as he was coming home from work. Kent was born on Aug. 12, 1973, in Logan, to Curtis Eugene Batty and Cynthia Fujimoto Batty.

He grew up in Randolph, Utah, and graduated from Rich High School. He attended Bridgerland Applied Technology College in Logan, and had resided there since then. As a young child, he had a hip condition which required hospitalization, wearing an A-frame cast for a time, and then an A-frame brace for a couple of years. This experience made him sensitive to people who had special needs.

He was kind, caring and loyal. If Kent became your friend, he was your friend for life. Although he had some physical limitations, he loved playing little league baseball and basketball. He enjoyed taking care of and playing with cats and dogs. He always had to have a radio, CD player or some other device playing his favorite music.

Kent was a hard worker. He worked for several companies in the Logan area; the last two places he worked were Icon Health and Fitness and West Liberty Foods.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cynthia and Woodrow Seiersen of Santaquin, Utah; father, C. Eugene Batty of Rock Springs; step-grandmother, Millie Fujimoto of Idabel, Oklahoma; brothers, Garth Batty of Orem, Utah, and Thayne (Julia) Shanghai of China; sisters, Marisa of Orem and Shannon (Zach) Watson of Provo, Utah; a nephew, Dante Watson; and nieces, Alanna and Mikayla Watson; aunts; uncles; cousins; stepbrothers; and stepsisters.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robbert Daniel; grandparents, Masayoshi and Kiyoko Fujimoto and Curtis and Elaine Batty; uncles, Don Batty and Jim St. Clair; aunt, Esther Fujimoto; and cousin, Duane Batty.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Randolph LDS church. A short visitation from 10-10:30 a.m., with a service beginning at 11 a.m., will be held at the church on Saturday, Oct. 21.
