Kathy went home to her loving Father in Heaven on Oct. 14.
Kathy was born on March 3, 1950, to James Jr. and Hilva Horne. After graduating from high school, she married Michael Wilson and had two sons, Brandon and Kirby. After divorcing Michael, she married Daniel Chavez and had a daughter, Kayleen.
Her children were the light of her life; she was a loving mother that cared deeply about each one of her children. Her empathy and humor had no bounds. She was also very caring of and friendly to others, from the children who attended her child daycare center, to the patients who visited the physician offices where she worked.
She was loved by many family members and friends, from her church congregation, to the fellow residents at Rocky Mountain Care. Most of all, she was very proud of what each of her children had done with their lives, and she was extremely happy to have been a grandmother.
Kathleen is survived by her ex-husband, Daniel Chavez; sons, Brandon (Martha) Wilson and Kirby (Adrienne) Wilson; brother, Robert (Gloria) Horne; nephews, Jim Overy and Michael Horne; nieces, Kris Jakeman and Michelle Bossert; granddaughters, Laina Bleu, Arminda and Evangeline; and grandsons, Colton, Derek and Dustin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jr. and Hilva Horne; sister, Karolyn Overy; daughter, Kayleen Montanez; and nephew, Josh Jakeman.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Evanston City Cemetery.
