Jerome Campbell, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully Friday, May 3, in his sleep, at the age of 92.

He is survived by his brother, Louie (Darlene) Campbell of Oklahoma; his children: Bill (Jackie) Jacobs of Magna, Utah; Ted (Marlaine) Jacobs of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Kathy (Chris) Shrontz of Pueblo, Colorado; Janeen Metevia of Denver; Janel (Derik) Campbell-Mullen of Savannah, Georgia; Jayme (Bob) Jorgensen of Evanston; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was born to Mark and Zora Campbell in Gatliff, Kentucky, on June 23, 1926, and joined the United States Marine Corps during WWII to defend his beloved country. He was honorably discharged after sustaining an injury during a tank battle in the Pacific Theater.

After retiring from civil service at Hill Air Force Base, he opened Bear River Pawn Shop in Evanston. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed telling stories of their history. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and angler.

Jerome will be dearly missed by his friends and family, and reunited with his wife, Evelyn Sherard-Campbell, and son, Larry Campbell.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston. Viewing will be held from 6-7 p.m., with services following at 7-8 p.m. He will be laid to rest on Monday, May 13, in LaGrange, with military honors.

Remembrances may be made in the form desired by family and friends.
