FORT BRIDGER — Janet Mary Mitchell, 73, of Fort Bridger, passed away on May 19, 2020, at her home.
Janet was born on April 22, 1947 in Heber, Utah, to Ralph Max Broadhead and Mary Leona (Richardson) Broadhead. Janet married Michael Dennis Mitchell on Dec. 16, 1966, in Heber, Utah and spent much of her life working in the Texas Gulf Soda Mine. Janet was also a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Throughout her life, Janet loved crafts, painting, reading, fishing and traveling in the mountains. Most importantly, Janet loved interacting and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a big fan of jewelry – diamonds were her best friend.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Broadhead; her brother, Glade Broadhead; and her sister Bonnie Porter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael D. Mitchell; her children: Brenda Burnley, Mike D. Mitchell (Sally Mitchell) and Glade D. Mitchell (Melissa Mitchell); her brother, Gene Broadhead; and her sister, Connie Beers.
In accordance with her wishes, a cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Francis Cemetery in Utah. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
