Our beloved father James “Jim” Sauerbreit, 83, passed away on July 5, in Holladay, Utah.
A small family memorial was held on July 7, in Bountiful, Utah, where we shared treasured memories of our loving father.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date in Colorado.
Jim was born in Brush, Colorado, on Sept. 19, 1934. He was the second of three children born to Alex and Florence Sauerbreit. He graduated from Brush High School in 1954 and then attended the University of Northern Colorado before joining the Navy in 1955. After leaving the Navy, he pursued a career in banking and finance.
Jim was an avid lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed spending his time camping, swimming and golfing. He also had a passion for ships and often built model ships in his free time.
Jim is survived by his three children, Stacy Sauerbreit-Guerrero (Gene), Doug Sauerbreit (Diane), and Brittany Sauerbreit; as well as three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Florence; his brother, William; and his sister, Marjorie.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
