Jacob Eric Roberts, age 48, of Altonah, Utah, died on Thursday, Aug. 11, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born June 27, 1974, in Miami Dade, Florida, to Leon and Terry Vougtman Roberts.

He married Rebekah Carroll on June 8, 1999, in Roosevelt, Utah.

Jacob was an excellent welder and had worked for many years at UTLX, a railroad car company, and then recently for XN Bar, an oilfield production company.

His three passions in life were riding his motorcycle, being in the mountains — he would have lived off the land if he could — and strong coffee all day every day. He also had a talent for fixing vehicles of any kind.

He loved family above all else, especially the “No. 1” in his life, his wife, Rebekah, whom he affectionately called “Baby Doll.” He was a kind man, and a hard worker!

He had a sense of humor, and little one-liners that will be missed by all who knew him. His nieces and nephews thought he was the strongest man they knew.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Rebekah and children, Jacob Dean Roberts, all of Altonah; and Jesse Caleb Roberts of Evanston; parents, Leon and Terry Roberts of Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandmother, Charmaine Vougtman of Nebraska; siblings, Angel Ruth Hernandez (Robert Conteres) of Phoenix; Ronnie (Holly) Roberts of Delta, Utah; Leon (Leanna) Roberts of Vernal, Utah; Everett (Linda) Roberts of Idaho Falls; Terry Roberts of Idaho; Tristan (Nyah) Roberts of Idaho Falls; Emanuel Roberts of Phoenix; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. There will be a Last Ride and Celebration of Life on Friday, Sept. 9-10, in Moonlake. More information and updated details can be found on Jacob Dean Roberts’ Facebook page. Condolences can be sent to 8520 N. 18000 W. 44 D, Altonah, Utah.
