It’s Diaper Need Awareness Week

Evanston Mayor Kent Williams recently proclaimed Sept. 24-30 as Diaper Need Awareness Week. The proclamation says clean diapers are a necessity to ensure the health of infants and toddlers and encourages the citizens of Evanston to “donate generously to diaper banks, diaper drives and those organizations that distribute diapers to families in need.” The United Way Community Diaper Bank, located at Uinta BOCES No. 1 in Evanston, distributes 700-800 diapers per month to families in need. The diaper bank is open from 12-5 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, unless it’s a holiday and then it is open the following Tuesday. Donations of diapers, wipes or financial support are greatly appreciated.
