Helen K. McAlister, resident of Thermopolis, passed away at Evanston Regional Hospital Aug. 29. She was 67. 

She was born to Ross and Pearl (Winder) Kelsey in Minersville, Utah. Helen married Hubert Eugene McAlister May 26, 1978, in Las Vegas. She loved crocheting and collecting dolls, which she gave away to anyone who wanted one. She loved trekking around on the Polaris Ranger with her beloved husband.

She contributed to the community by serving as secretary for the Mountain View Fire Department for six years.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert McAlister; children, Camie Hadden (Kelly Smith) of Caldwell, Idaho, Joshua McAlister (Jessie) of Mount Pleasant, Utah, Meggan White (Jason) of St. George, Utah; daughter-in-law, Misty McAlister, a sister, Louise Midkiff; and nine grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Phillip McAlister; her father, Ross Kelsey; her mother, Pearl Kelsey; and her brothers, Frank and Richard Kelsey.

A visitation in Helen’s honor will be on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Urie LDS Stake Center in Urie, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., also at the Urie LDS Stake Center. 

Interment will be in Monument Hills Cemetery in Thermopolis, on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m.
