Gerald Tingey Aaron, 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, in Melbourne, Australia.

He was born in Evanston to Emma Mae Tingey Aaron and Joseph Archie Aaron on Aug. 31, 1940.

Gerry attended schools in Evanston and graduated from Evanston High School.

Gerry fulfilled an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina. He loved the people there so much and that love continued for the rest of his life.

Gerry met his sweetheart, Helen Rae, in Canada, while attending school and married her. She preceded him in death in 2001.

Gerry loved teaching Spanish and did this his whole life between Canada and Australia; though he once lived in California and Basin, Wyoming.

Gerry loved creating new recipes and cooking them; he especially loved Sunday dinners with his family and grandchildren.

Gerry held various callings in the church; the latest was organist, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Gerry loved serving his Heavenly Father and others; if he wasn’t helping someone he wasn’t happy.

One of his highlights during every week was calling his sister Emma every Friday to make sure she was OK.

Gerry is survived by his children: son, Clark (Evelyn) Aaron of Melbourne, Australia; daughters, Ramona Aaron of Melbourne, Australia and Camilla Aaron of Melbourne, Australia; two grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Chanelle Aaron and Jordan Aaron. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and two grandcats, Loki and Emmy.

Gerry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents, a brother, his in-laws and numerous relatives.
