Evanston Regional Hospital: year in review

Posted

2017 was an exciting year for Evanston Regional Hospital and our community. Over the course of the last 12 months, seven new physicians joined our community. These additions include board-certified physicians in new, much-needed specialties like pediatrics, cardiology and urology. You can learn more about each provider at www.UintaMedicalGroup.com.

Most recently, we welcomed board-certified pediatrician Bird Gilmartin, M.D., to our team. As a former elementary school teacher, Dr. Gilmartin loves children and their resilient spirits. She takes the time to listen to you and your child, while providing the highest quality care in alignment with best practices and evidence-based medicine.

In 2017, Evanston Regional Hospital made significant investments that bring cutting-edge technology to our community. Our newly upgraded MRI enhances the patient experience and provides a higher quality image with 3D motion correction abilities.

In addition, when you come to Evanston Regional Hospital for a colonoscopy or an EGD, your physician now uses high-definition endoscopic equipment to identify and remove cancer or other lesions. Early detection of colon cancer can save your life. These new scopes will also improve comfort of patients as well with new technologies to help your physician better navigate your individual anatomy.

We’ve heard feedback from patients about concerns about costs at the hospital. High cost for healthcare is a nationwide issue. However, we want to partner with our patients. Please speak with our new financial counselor at the hospital to see what health saving avenues might apply to your specific situation.

Did you know that Evanston Regional Hospital is one of the top 25 percent rural hospitals in the nation for quality? The National Organization of State Office of Rural Health and The Chartis Center for Rural Health awarded Evanston Regional Hospital with a Performance Leadership in Quality Award in 2017.

Evanston Regional Hospital is proud to be our community hospital. Everything we do is focused on offering quality healthcare close to home. Evanston Regional Hospital is open 24/7, 52 weeks a year. You can count on our short ER wait times. You can count on our physicians and nurses to help you and your family on the road to recovery.

Accidents happen. Illnesses happen. Births happen. And you can count on Evanston Regional Hospital every step of the way.
