Evanston police incidents
Aug. 15-25, 2019
Editor’s note: Information contained in this report is compiled from a daily activity log and an arrest record maintained by the Evanston Police Department. VIN inspections are not included. Those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law; charges listed.
The Evanston Police Department responded to 226 incidents between the dates of Thursday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 25. Incidents included 10 alarms, 11 ambulance or medical assists, 32 animal problems, simple assault, three agency assists, four citizen complaints, six citizen disputes, six citizen assists, controlled substance possession, three domestic violence incidents, two DUIs, an emergency detention, a fire, a fireworks incident, harassment, two intoxicated persons, four juvenile problems, a K9 sniff, keeping the peace, a minor in possession of alcohol and a missing person.
Officers also responded to four noise problems, a nuisance call, paraphernalia, a parking problem, a prowler (Harrison Dr.), 11 suspicious incidents, two hit-and-run traffic accidents, 15 traffic accidents with property damage, five property thefts, shoplifting, a traffic hazard, three trespassing incidents, vagrancy, vandalism, threes wanted persons and 14 welfare checks.
The Evanston Police Department arrested 11 persons between the dates of Aug. 15 and Aug. 25.
Homer S. Ames, of Central Valley, Utah, was arrested for public intoxication.
Austin Clift, of Evanston, was arrested on a warrant for failing to pay.
Corey L. Crandall, of Evanston, was arrested for possessing paraphernalia and public intoxication.
Lance E. Hayes, of Evanston, was arrested for misdemeanor probation revocation and failing to appear.
Daisy A. Hernandez, of Evanston, was arrested for the purchase or possession of alcohol by or for someone under the age of 21.
Kevin R. Kohl Jr., of Evanston, was arrested for domestic battery.
Stewart B. Long, of Evanston, was arrested for battery of a household member.
Chloe C. McCoy, of Ogden, Utah, was arrested for driving while under the influence.
Samuel E. Shelley, of Evanston, was arrested for driving while under the influence with a BAC of .08% or greater.
Mark D. Tingey, of Evanston, was arrested for possessing stolen property.
William J. Warner, of Evanston, was arrested for domestic battery.
