Evanston police incidents
April 2-5, 2020
Editor’s note: Information contained in this report is compiled from a daily activity log and an arrest record maintained by the Evanston Police Department. VIN inspections are not included. Those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law; charges listed.
The Evanston Police Department responded to 56 incidents between the dates of Thursday, April 2, and Sunday, April 5. Incidents included five ambulance or medical assists, 10 animal problems, a citizen complaint, a citizen dispute, a citizen assist, two citizen investigative contacts, counterfeit funds, controlled substance possession, two domestic violence incidents, a DUI, harassment, an information report, four juvenile problems, keeping the peace, a noise problem, a probation/parole violation, six suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents with property damage, threatening, property theft, unsecure premises and a welfare check.
The Evanston Police Department arrested four persons between the dates of April 2 and April 5.
Joseph Harsha, of Evanston, was arrested for domestic assault.
Victor A. Hernandez, of Evanston, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of .08% or greater, resisting arrest, and having an open container in a vehicle.
Trenton G. Smith, of Evanston, was arrested for domestic battery and public intoxication.
Harley J. Warner, of Evanston, was arrested for misdemeanor probation violation, the purchase and/or possession of alcohol by or for someone under the age of 21 and public intoxication.
