The football programs from Evanston, Mountain View and Lyman high schools will all be represented by players in the 45th annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl.

Head coaches from each high school football team in Wyoming nominated seniors to play in the game, which will take place June 9 at Natrona County High School in Casper. The coaching staffs from the North and South teams selected 36 players for each team that best fit its needs.

Evanston senior Blake Overy will represent the Red Devils on the South team after earning Class 3A All-State honors as an offensive lineman. Defensively, Overy averaged six points per game and 48 on the season. He had nine solo tackles and 22 assists.

Lyman’s BeauDee Bluemel is also listed on the South roster. Bluemel ran for 102.3 yards per game and finished the season with 818 yards rushing on 181 carries with five touchdowns. He led Class 2A in punting with a total average of 38.2 yards and a net average of 29.2 yards. Bluemel was ninth in Class 2A in defensive points (16.3) per game. He averaged five tackles per game and had two interceptions on the season.

Mountain View’s Jason Stoddard, Jonathan Anderson, and Trevon Peterson will all play for the South after leading the Buffalos to the Class 2A state championship.

Stoddard and Anderson were both All-State selections.

Stoddard led 2A with 256 defensive points. He averaged 9.5 tackles per game, recorded 79 total solo tackles, had two fumble recoveries and five interceptions. Offensively, Stoddard finished the season with 600 receiving yards on 42 receptions and six touchdowns. He also ran for 180 yards on 38 attempts and scored two touchdowns. Stoddard was second in Class 2A in punting with a total average of 37.3 yards and a net average of 35.1 Stoddard was third in kicking with a total average of 47.1 yards and a net average of 32.3. He was also third in punt returns, averaging 15.1 yards per game and a total of 166 yards on 13 returns in 2017.

Anderson averaged nine defensive points per game. He had 24 solo tackles and 23 assists, including five tackles for a loss.

Peterson averaged five defensive points per game and 55 on the season. He finished the year with 10 solo tackles, 14 assists and an interception.

Cody Peacock of Lyman will be an assistant coach for the South team. McKay Young of Star Valley will be the head coach for the South team, while Marty Wrage of Greybull will be at the helm for the North team.

Both coaches were selected through a process of nominating and voting from their peers. Young and Wrage then selected their assistant coaches.

The North is 8-1-1 against the South in the past 10 years.
