The Evanston High School girls’ basketball team did not receive a single vote in the Class 4A Coach’s and Media preseason poll.
Now, the Lady Red Devils are ranked 5th after collecting 48 votes in the latest poll that was released at midnight on Thursday.
Evanston went 3-0 over the weekend, with wins over Laramie, Sheridan and Riverton at the Casper Invitational. The Red Devils are back in action Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the Flaming Gorge Classic.
Meanwhile, the Lyman Lady Eagles remained at No. 2 in Class 3A after receiving 138 votes. The Lady Eagles had double-digit wins against Wind River, Cokeville and Green River at the Bridger Valley Tournament.
Lyman will be in action Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Flaming George Classic.
The Mountain View Lady Buffalos did not crack the top five in the latest rankings, but they did receive 27 votes after rolling past Farson-Eden and Cokeville and falling to Green River in the Bridger Valley Tournament. Mountain View will also will be in action Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Flaming George Classic.
