Wrestling is a sport like none other — you can reach the highest of highs along with the lowest of lows all in one day.  

Our kids from the Evanston Elite Wrestling Club experienced all of that this past weekend in Casper at the State Tournament.  

There’s no teammates to blame for your shortcomings and nobody to rely on while you’re on the mat. It’s just you and your opponent for six minutes. The winner moves that much closer to their dream and the loser has to fight his way back to reach the podium.  

We had kids come up short of placing by one match, and we had kids reach their goals of placing in the top six and standing on the podium. We even had Grey Hamilton become a state champion in both Freestyle and Folkstyle.  

Overall every kid learned and grew and became a better wrestler and a better person in three long days of wrestling.
