Eleanor Louise Travis, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 22, at Rocky Mountain Care in Evanston.

She was born March 18, 1934, in Bison, South Dakota, to Clarence E. and Ruth S. Anderson Albertson. She loved to garden and cook, and she always enjoyed her grandchildren. She was very proud of her degree as a registered nurse, and she was the director of nursing at the Veterans Administration in Reno, Nevada.

After retiring, she would travel with her best friend Opal in an RV through the states of Colorado, Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. In her later years, she loved to discuss nursing with CNAs and RNs at home health.

Eleanor was a devout Seventh-Day Adventist Christian and she was everyone’s “grandma.” She also collected memorabilia, including collector plates, fine china, crystal, silver and ceramics.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Travis; a son, Robert Bisgaard; her best friend, Opal; and three brothers, Rolland, Wayne and Gerald Albertson.

She is survived by her sons, Fred (Darlene) Bisgaard, Ed (Wanda) Bisgaard and Robert Walker; her grandchildren, Derrick (Emily) Bisgaard, Nevin Bisgaard, Josh Bisgaard, Jessi Wright, Tiffany Feil and Cassie Land; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Albertson and Frank Albertson; and a sister, Charlene Swanson.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Bear River State Park.
