EVANSTON — Evanston High Schhol track and field teams hosted the Evanston Invitational on Wednesday, April 24, with a number of outstanding team and individual performances turned in by athletes from the host teams, along with Star Valley, Jackson, Green River, Lyman, Mountain View, Pinedale, Big Piney, Kemmerer and Farson-Eden.
Evanston won the girls’ 4 x 800-meter relay with a time of 10:08.59 with a team comprised of Breila Fuller, Heidi Barton, Hailey Cardon and Reghan Worley. Jackson
placed second, followed by Green River, Kemmerer and Big Piney.
The EHS boys’ team also won the 4 x 800-meter relay with Dallin Cardon, Tyrell Halladay, Logan Hunt and Brandon Sepos coming in with the winning mark of 8:42.61.
Zocia Nowakowski and Stacia Barker made it a one-two sweep in girls’ 100-meter hurdles with times of 15.73 and 15.89, respectively, while teammate Gabby hall placed sixth, scoring two team points.
Jamin Barker won the boys 100-meter hurdles clocking 15.27 seconds; teammates Jesus Quintero took third, Cade Francom came in fifth and Jake Robinette placed eighth.
Gabe Morris won the boys’ 100-meter dash with a time of 11.39 seconds. Morris also claimed first-place honors in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.86.
Lyman’s McKinley Bradshaw had a fine showing in Evanston, placing first in the girls high-jump, discus and shot put.
Breila Fuller won the girls’ 1600-meter run with a time of 5:39.07, while Red Devil Dallin Cardon took first-place honors in the boys’ 1600-meter run with a finals time of 4:44.91.
Cade Francom placed first for the Red Devils in the boys’ 300-meter hurdles, coming in with a time of 42.21 seconds.
Lady Red Devil senior Reghan Worley set the pace for the 3200-meter run with a 12.17.80 time. Evanston’s Lilly Williams placed fourth in the event.
The Evanston “A team” won the 4 x 400-meter relay with a final’s time of 3:32.53.
Conner Micheli of Mountain View continued his impressive performances in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13-feet, four inches in Evanston. The freshman has eclipsed 15 feet during the 2019 track season.
Red Devil senior Garrett Berger won the boy’s long-jump with a leap of 19-feet, four inches.
Evanston senior Bridger Barker placed first in the discus with a toss of 126-feet, four inches.
Lady Red Devil Tia Nelson ended with a first-place showing in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.90.
