Edith Kay Wilkinson

Edith Kay Wilkinson (known to her family and friends as Kay) passed away June 24 in her home in Mountain View.

Kay was a very talented person. One of her attributes was that she worked at something until it was perfect. She cross-stitched many pictures on linen as gifts for her family. One picture took her many months because of all the beads and threads she used to embellish the picture. She crocheted throws and Barbie clothes along with many beautiful beaded doilies. For many years Kay played the piano for her family as well as church. She birdwatched in many states and enjoyed rides looking at the scenery.

Family and religious beliefs were the most important things in her life. She served an LDS mission along with her husband in Auckland, New Zealand. Kay was dedicated to serving in the church.

Kay was so grateful for the many visits and support from her family and friends during her illness. Her absence will be felt by many as a loving member and longtime resident of the valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Slagowski and Iduma Slagowski, as well as by her daughter Stephanie Anne Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Paul N. Wilkinson; her children Paula K Bowman (Thomas), Richard P. Wilkinson, Gwenn Iduma Maxfield (Nick) and Arlan K. Johnson; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, at the Mt. View LDS Church in Mt. View. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at the McKinnon Cemetery in McKinnon.
