Donna V. Saxton Angelo

Posted

Donna V. Saxton Angelo passed away peacefully, with family members by her side, in Evanston, on July 2. She was born to William Solomon Saxton and Kathleen Saxton Pulsipher in Coalville, Utah, where she was one of eight children and spent her first 16 years. She married Robert “Bob” Angelo on Jan. 11, 1947, in Upton, Utah.

Donna is survived by her four children, Margaret Yvonne Angelo Massa (Gary Massa), Barbara Jean Angelo, Sharon Dee Angelo Haviland (Ron Haviland), Robert Michael Angelo (Theresa Ellis, fiancé).

Surviving family members include sisters, Lois Johannsen and Bonnie Humphrey, of Salt Lake City. Donna has five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loves.

When she was younger, her husband took her and the kids camping and fishing, which she adored. She spent time hunting in Cokeville for deer and elk in one of her favorite spots there in the Nugent Park area. After her husband Bob passed away in 1973, she went to work to provide for her family.

Donna was also preceded in death by sister, Anna May Fowler; brothers, Bob, Max and Glen Saxton; brother-in-law, Jim Johannsen; and “the man” Keith Weston Sauer, her grandson.

Donna spent time drawing and did beautiful oil paintings of landscapes and liked listening to country music. She attended grandkids’ high school activities, mostly football. She could be seen most any day in the spring, summer and fall pulling weeds and planting flowers in her yard. She loved to be outside spending time swinging out back in the sun, and watching the returning bird families building their nests.

Donna loved life, and the little things that make life good. She took loving care of her family, and we took good care of her. She had a heart of gold, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

We love you mom — until we meet again!

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Evanston City Cemetery.
