Donald Scott Shoemaker

Donald Scott Shoemaker, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the University of Utah Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Midland, South Dakota. He is the son of Rollie and Ruth Eva Shoemaker.

Donald taught seventh grade mathematics and science as well as at the high school. He served as a water commissioner for many years as well. He could be found on the river working or fishing with grandkids most of the time. The river will miss him. Donald knew no strangers; he was a friend to all.

Donald is survived by his children: Sundi DeRosas of Evanston; Kim (Brian) Kwiatkowski of Odessa, Texas; and Brian (Alisha) Shoemaker of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Gordon (Margret) Shoemaker of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; Alice Bentley of Rapid City, South Dakota; six grandchildren: Bria and Kaden Shoemaker, Gavin and Alyssa DeRosas, and Kolby and Kylee Kwiatkowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ida Mae Patterson.

Visitation will be at Crandall Funeral Home, 800 Uinta St., Evanston, on Monday, Nov. 2, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Crandall Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Evanston Cemetery.
