EVANSTON — Davis Middle School recognized student achievement on last spring’s PAWS testing during an all-school assembly on Friday, Sept. 30.
Principal Chris Brown said that students were told last spring that rewards would be given for students who earned advanced scores in both math and reading, students who earned proficient or advanced scores in both math and reading, and students who went up from one level to the next in both math and reading.
All students who met the criteria had their names entered into a drawing. Brown drew one student name for each grade level in each category and awarded that student a $100 bill. The grade levels reflected what grade the students were in during the 2016-17 school year.
Sixth grade winners were Morgan Blair, Bronson Robertson and Simon Angwin. Seventh grade winners were Zachary Smith, William Govea and Kyle Barker. Eighth grade winners were Brendon Li, Trysten Pederson and Cole Francis.
