The International Society of Daughters of Utah Pioneers (ISDUP) held its annual leadership seminar in Layton, Utah, of June 10.
Eight daughters of the Uinta Wyoming Company attended the seminar: President Peggy Nixon, 1st Vice President Alice Hughes, 2nd Vice President Sandra Despain, Registrar Louise Angwin, Outreach Director Ruby Norris, Music Leader Marsha Hughes, Computer IT Specialist Kristin Hopkin and Publicity Chair Kay Ann Saxton.
Various breakout sessions were held for presidents, treasurers, museums, secretaries, music, markers, historians, registrar, outreach, lesson leaders, chaplains and parliamentarians. Instructions were given to the officers to help them prepare for camp meetings that will begin in September.
The lessons, songs and museum artifacts for the coming year were introduced. Uinta Wyoming Company will hold a seminar in August where members will pass on the instructions to the officers of the seven local camps.
During the luncheon, the 2017 Utah Days of ’47 Royalty spoke and sang to the assembled daughters. Royalty were crowned on April 22.
Chosen from the 21 contestants from Idaho and many areas of Utah were: Queen Maren Cline, 1st Attendant Tess Hanson and 2nd Attendant Brittny Millington. ISDUP conducts the royalty pageant for the Days of ’47 committee each year.
