Daryl John Ervin

Posted

Daryl John Ervin was born in Salt Lake City, on June 11, 1959, to Clarence and Lois Ervin. He graduated from Cyprus High School in 1977. Health problems took him from us much too soon.

Daryl married Dora Deen Ellett in 1979. To that union, a son, John, was born in 1980. They were later divorced.

Daryl then married Leslie Newsome in August of 1989. To this union a son, Colby, was born in 1993, and a daughter, Mackenzie, was born in 1995.

Daryl worked for Lithcote Co. / Union Tank Car Co. for 34 years as a safety and environmental supervisor.

Daryl was a quiet man who didn’t talk a lot, but when something needed said — you heard it. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting in his favorite spots, fishing on the river or on his boat at Flaming Gorge, wrestling trips with all of his children, camping with family and their friends, or just going for “rides.” He always said, “My church is in the mountains, you can’t get much closer to God than that.”

Daryl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence A. Ervin, Annie Ervin, Arthur Harding and Emily Harding; father, Clarence; brother, Don; and nephew, Kody.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Leslie; sons, John and Colby; daughter, Mackenzie; his loyal companion Tricksie; mother, Lois; brothers, Dave (Janine), Doug (Cheryl) and Dan (Cory); Don’s wife, Julie; sister, Diane; plus a multitude of nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at a later date.
