Cyrena Hess

Cyrena Hess, resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, formerly of Evanston, passed away on March 13, at the age of 36. 

She was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, on Aug. 21, 1981. She lived most of her life in Evanston, where she graduated high school.

Cyrena was a happy, upbeat person. She always had a hug to give or a smile to share. She was short in stature but made up for it in personality and feistiness. She was kind and loving. 

She loved the outdoors, hiking, camping and fishing. She was a talented artist. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and loved ones. She loved animals and always had a furry companion at her side. 

She will be sadly missed by her father and stepmother, Jerry and Sue Hess; sister and brother-in-law, Clorice and Joshua Walton; nieces and nephew — Abby, Gabby and Chase Hall; stepfather, Johnny Quillinan; grandmother, Louise Troyer; uncle, Joe Lopez; and husband, Nate Devitt.

She was predeceased by her loving mother, Cynthia Lopez. 

Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at the far end of Bear River State Park.
