Clarence Gilbert Eastman passed away on Saturday, Sept. 29, in Salt Lake City. He was born May 27, 1949, in Evanston, to Clarence V. and Elizabeth (Marsh) Eastman. He married Trixie Lee Skinner in 1969.

Gilbert served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a member of the NRA. He loved being outdoors, listening to music, keeping up with politics, reading, learning about history, watching movies and most of all, spending time with his family.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Trixie; sons, Dallas Lane (Amber Marie) Eastman, Dustin Clain Eastman and Dillon Wayne Eastman; daughters, Fawna Lee (Richard Ian) Kuntzelman and Kolette Lyn Eastman; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Russell Jay Eastman and John Marshal Eastman; sisters, Twila Rose, Melba Lou, Ila Jane and Lila Louise.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his son, Kip V. Eastman; great-granddaughter Payson Jo Midkiff; his father; his mother; and Jimmy Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial at the Eastman Family Cemetery in Woodruff, Utah, will follow services at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
